This tenth-century castle ruin is nicknamed Hell's Castle – visitors describe a woman in white and a pale girl with a bullet hole in her forehead.

The thousand-year-old castle ruin at Santa Coloma de Cervelló outside Barcelona has earned the nickname El Castillo del Infierno, Hell's Castle. The tower was ravaged during the Catalan civil wars of the fifteenth century, and the dead are said never to have left. Ghost hunters flock here, reporting EVP recordings of cries, clashing swords and rhythmic knocks, while others claim to have seen a woman in white gliding between the walls and a pale girl with long black hair and a bullet wound in her forehead. The ruin stands open and raw beside Gaudí's famous Colonia Güell – a stark contrast of idyll and unease.
