In 1910 they broke open the old wall and found a skeleton in a sealed niche. The noblewoman Celestine had vanished around 1550.

Dragsholm is reckoned Denmark's most haunted house, and it keeps three revenants. The White Lady is Celestine Marianne de Bayonne Gyldenstierne, who vanished without trace around 1550 after her father raged at her being got with child by a stable boy and planned to send her away to give birth in secret. During rebuilding in 1910 a skeleton was found walled into a niche in the old castle. She is said to walk in the white gown she wore to her farewell party, taking particular interest in sleeping men. The Grey Lady was a young maidservant who stole silver, was corrected, and then trusted with the silver herself; she appears in the doorway to the Knights' Hall by her own chair, which nobody may move. And the Earl of Bothwell was held prisoner here from 1573 until his death in 1578.
