The story goes that Peter, a construction worker said to have fallen from the roof during a 1912 addition, is behind the chairs that move, the drawers pulled open and the footsteps in empty corridors. His name supposedly surfaced when a custodian brought a ouija board into the building. Archivists dryly note that no records confirm any fatal accident — yet reports of night-time disturbances have persisted for decades.
