Founded 1143 by monks from Clairvaux at King Sverker's initiative; one of the Nordic region's first Cistercian abbeys, demolished after the Reformation (stone to Vadstena Castle). The legend: the monks hid their treasure in Mount Omberg via the 'Ivy Passage' toward Rödgavel. Modern ghost tourism reports organ music, cold spots and 'Latin voices' at midnight.
