The 1960s dance hall at Kenosee Lake became Saskatchewan's most publicised haunting after Dale Orsted bought it in 1990 and renovations seemed to stir something awake. Doors slammed on their own, glasses and cutlery vanished only to reappear, and the nightly banging grew so loud that police responded to a suspected break-in — and found no explanation. The activity was described as classic poltergeist work: violent, noisy, yet almost never seen. The inn burned down in 2021, but the lakeside site carries the reputation still.
