A workman fell from the rafters of this theatre at Lincoln, Nebraska while it was being built early in the 1900s, and was killed when he hit the stage floor.

What people hear is a sequence: a noise, and then a crashing sound from the stage. They go to look and there is nobody there and nothing out of place.

A misty figure of a workman in old fashioned clothes is also seen.

The order of the sounds is the detail that makes this account rather than a story. Witnesses do not describe a crash. They describe something first and then the crash, which is the order somebody standing in that room in 1907 would have heard it.

The Temple Building was given to the university by John D Rockefeller and it has housed the theatre department for over a century.
