The Queen Mary is permanently moored at Long Beach, California, and she is the most reported ship in the world.

A man is seen in the engine room, where he was killed while she was still working. The story attached to him concerns a watertight door.

Around the first class swimming pool, which has held no water for decades, people hear children playing and splashing, and wet footprints appear on the tiles.

She was a genuine Atlantic liner before she was an attraction. She carried passengers from 1936, was painted grey and used as a troopship through the Second World War, and in 1942 she cut through the cruiser Curacoa in the North Atlantic while zigzagging at speed. Over three hundred men died and she was under orders not to stop.

That is the single worst thing that ever happened aboard, and it is rarely what the ghost tours talk about.

The ship is a hotel and is open to visitors.
