The arts centre at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio was built along Third Street, where a good many old houses once stood, and the accounts are attributed to them rather than to the building.

The reports concentrate in one place: the corridor running between the main lobby and the classroom hallways, which everyone there calls the Connector Hall.

A connecting corridor is a purely functional space. Nobody works in it, nobody stops in it, and it exists only to get people from one part of a building to another, which makes it an odd choice for a haunting and a good one for noticing something out of place.

Portsmouth sits where the Scioto meets the Ohio and was a substantial industrial town, and the houses cleared for this campus were part of what was lost when that industry went.

The building is in use by the university.
