The Palace at Sixth and Broadway in Los Angeles is a vaudeville era theatre and it is reported throughout, by both stage workers and audience.

The account everybody remembers is the two old stage hands who bicker with each other in the wings.

That is the most companionable haunting in this collection. They are not warning anybody or looking for anything. They are two men who worked together, still disagreeing, off stage where the audience cannot hear them, which is where stage hands have always done it.

A claim about one of the seats near the front is not documented and is not repeated here.

The Palace opened in 1911 and is the oldest surviving Orpheum circuit theatre in the country. Broadway in Los Angeles has the greatest concentration of intact movie palaces anywhere.

The theatre is used for filming and events.
