The Old Field House at North Carolina State University in Raleigh is the original field house for the Wolfpack.

For years it held the University Police Department, which has since moved to a new building, and it is the officers and staff who worked there who are the source for what is reported.

Footsteps are heard upstairs. Shadowy figures are seen in the building.

A police department is a useful witness. Officers are trained observers, they are in the building at every hour, they know which doors are locked and who is on shift, and they have professional reasons not to report things that are not there.

That does not make the accounts correct, but it does make them harder to dismiss than the average.

The building is on campus and remains university property.
