On his way to early service, Priest Hoppe of Sexdrega is said to have passed Apelnäs Falls, where the river's spirit sat playing enchantingly. When the priest reminded him of Judgment Day, the spirit smashed his fiddle in despair, but a word of hope healed the instrument and the music returned. Further on, Satan himself loosed the cart wheel, but the priest forced the Evil One instead to carry the cart all the way to the church, where he had to remain outside the Lord's house.
