Perched on a crag of red jasper in the Parma Apennines, Bardi Castle watches over the Ceno valley. Legend tells of the commander Moroello and the castellan's daughter Soleste: when she mistook his returning troops for enemies, she threw herself from the tower in despair, and Moroello followed her into death upon realizing what had happened. His restless spirit is said to still patrol the ramparts, and paranormal teams have investigated and photographed the castle several times. Today Bardi is a popular destination where ghost tours are part of the program.
