In the gently rolling countryside of Västergötland in western Sweden, just outside Skara, stands Blombacka Manor. At first glance it is a calm place: fields moving slowly in the wind, an avenue leading up to the main building, timber, plaster, stone, nature. But beneath that quiet surface lie layers of history and traces of lives that once shaped both the people and the land. Blombacka is the kind of place that stays with you — not only in the landscape, but in the mind.

Blombacka is first mentioned in 1483, when the estate belonged to Peder Bengtsson Gylta. Over the centuries that followed, the manor passed through several influential families. After 1594 it became associated with the Lilliehöök, Lake, Krabbe and Göthenstierna families. Later, above all during the 1700s and early 1800s, new names entered the estate's history, among them Åkerhielm af Blombacka, Gyllenhaal, af Jochnick, Sjöcrona and Hoffman.
