Château Miranda, also known as Château de Noisy, was a 19th-century neo-Gothic castle in the woods near Celles that decades of decay turned into one of Europe's most famous abandoned places. In its years as a ruin it drew urban explorers and ghost hunters from around the world, and the legend of the 'White Lady of Miranda' – a female figure drifting through the empty halls – spread through countless accounts. The castle was demolished in 2017 despite international protests, but the site and its legend endure: the White Lady is now said to keep watch over the foundations and the forest where the spires once rose. Note: the building has been demolished – only the site remains.
