When this school at Spanish Fork, Utah was newly built and the Little Theater had just been finished, a caretaker was up on the catwalk above the stage, installing the bulbs for the spot lighting.
He slipped and fell.
No record of the death has been produced and it should be read as school folklore rather than as history, but it is a more plausible story than most. A theatre catwalk is a narrow steel walkway high above a hard floor, and the person who changes the lamps up there is the caretaker, alone, usually out of hours.
He is reported in the Little Theater and nowhere else in the building.
Drama students at this school are told about him in their first week, which is how these things are transmitted intact through cohorts who never overlap.
