Renschler Road runs off Highway 177 near Mascoutah, Illinois and then splits. Bear left and the road curves out toward the gravity hill.

An update from February 2004 records what a group of investigators did about it, and it is the most useful thing anyone has ever contributed to a gravity hill.

They took a bottle of water and poured it out on the slope.

The water ran in the same direction the car rolled.

Water does not respond to atmosphere or suggestion, and it does not go uphill. What the test demonstrates is that the slope runs the way the car goes, and that the hill people think they are looking at is an optical illusion produced by a false horizon.

America has dozens of these. This is the only one in this archive where somebody brought a bottle of water.
