The restaurant in Pawhuska, Oklahoma stands where a house stood in the 1940s. A couple in their mid twenties lived in it. The man was drafted for the Second World War and did not come back. His wife stayed on alone.

After her death the house stood empty for years, and it was demolished in the mid 1970s to make way for the business that occupies the site now.
