The auditorium at Ellis Middle School in Elgin, Illinois is said to be occupied by a woman in a white lace dress, visible only in the corridors backstage.

An update in August 2005 is unusually direct about it. The story is believed to be a hoax created by eighth graders to frighten incoming seventh graders. The school was built in 1951 on farmland bought by the local district, and no documentation exists that would support anything having happened there.
