On the lower level there is a metal door about three feet off the ground. The rest of the school has been rebuilt and this part was left alone. Behind it.

On the lower level of this school at Camp Hill, Pennsylvania there is a small metal door, set about three feet above the floor.

The whole school has been redone. This part was left as it was.

The door is usually locked, though people have got in. Behind it the floor is bare earth, and there are mounds across it.

That is the account, and it is one of the very few in this collection that describes a physical thing rather than an event. No death is claimed, no figure is reported, and nothing happens. There is simply a room that was not renovated, with a raised door and a dirt floor, and mounds in the dirt.

Crawl spaces under old school buildings are exactly this, and the mounds are usually spoil from the original excavation.

Knowing that does not make anybody want to go in.
