Grand Duke Constantine returns to the study where he signed the sentences, by preference on the eve of the November Uprising's anniversary.

The classicist palace at the foot of the Lazienki escarpment was the residence of Grand Duke Constantine, the tsar's brother and the most hated man in Warsaw, until the night in 1830 when the November Uprising began with an attack on this very building. Aleksandra Pilsudska later wrote down the house legend: Constantine's figure returns to the study where in life he signed sentences against Poles, and appeared on the eve of the anniversary of the uprising to one of Marshal Pilsudski's adjutants. Pilsudski himself is said to have heard steps in the empty corridor outside his study and to have left the lamp burning all night, something he never did at Sulejowek. At the seances held in the house, besides Constantine, a woman was called up who was searching for her child.
