Johanna Charlotta, known as Gammelnådan, was Tamm's second wife and a figure feared among the household staff. Her severe manner frightened many, and her spirit does not seem to have lost its sharpness. Her anger is said to still be felt in the manor's corridors, and many avoid being there alone, particularly after dark.

The White Lady and her sorrowful story

No ghost story about Österbybruk Manor is complete without the White Lady, a mysterious woman often seen drifting above Korsdammen pond in the manor park. According to legend a lieutenant fell in love with her during a ball in the 1800s. The night ended in tragedy: the lieutenant was later found drowned in the pond, a white lace handkerchief in his hand.
