The Ó-Ebergényi mansion in Vasszécseny, western Hungary, stands on medieval foundations and today houses an elegant castle hotel. Its ghost stories are surprisingly recent: during an exhibition held here in the early 2000s, strange unidentifiable figures appeared in one exhibitor's photographs. Since then, staff and guests have repeatedly reported footsteps in empty corridors, muffled rattling and sudden screams whose source has never been traced. The building is also said to conceal secret passages from earlier centuries, which has only fed the rumours.
