On New Year's evening there was a dance at Veckosk in Borgå when a fine gentleman came in, took the fiddle from the player and began to play. The dancing went well, but when they looked closer the gentleman had a horse's foot. At once the master fell gravely ill, and only after they prayed to God did the fine gentleman depart amid crashing and thunder. The master was long in poor health, punished for allowing dancing on New Year's eve.
