Castle Rising Castle near King's Lynn (PE31 6AH) is an imposing Norman keep built in 1150. In 1330 Edward III sent his mother, Queen Isabella, to live here in unofficial imprisonment for her part in the murder of Edward II. Her mad laughter still echoes from the upper levels of the castle.
