The Black Lady, Barbara Radziwill, has walked Nesvizh Castle for over four hundred years – trapped in our world by a séance gone wrong.

By a four-hundred-year-old tradition, the Radziwill palace at Nesvizh is haunted by the Black Lady – Barbara Radziwill, who secretly married the Polish heir Sigismund II Augustus and died in agony only months after her coronation, rumoured to have been poisoned by her mother-in-law. The grieving king had a necromancer summon her spirit in the castle, under a single condition: not to touch the apparition. When Barbara appeared, the king threw himself towards her – and her soul was forever caught between worlds. Ever since she walks the halls in black mourning dress, and is said to appear as a warning when danger threatens the castle.
