In the Gothic mansion on the Camden golf course, two dead boys are said to still be playing — and a lone woman to keep watch in the tower.

Built in 1889, Studley Park House crowns a hill in the middle of Camden's golf course southwest of Sydney and ranks among the country's most haunted homes. Two boys died on the grounds: one drowned in the dam in 1909, and a young pupil died of appendicitis when the house served as a boys' school in the 1930s. Golfers and caretakers have since reported children's laughter, running footsteps and two boyish figures playing in the empty house. A nameless woman is also said to stand waiting in the tower, and when the house was renovated in 2010, a hangman's noose was found dangling beneath one of the roof spires.
