The children's museum at Yunker Farm in Fargo, North Dakota has an entrance to a first floor terrace with two doors, both secured with deadbolts.

One of them keeps unlocking itself.

The staff are precise about why that matters: there is only one person with a key, and that person has not been near the door.

The lift also goes up and down with nobody in it.

A deadbolt is the strongest evidence a building in this collection can offer. It does not slip, it cannot be moved by a draught, and turning one takes a deliberate action with a key or a thumbturn. A single keyholder makes it checkable.

The farmhouse was built by the Yunker family in 1876 and is one of the oldest buildings in the city.

The museum is open to visitors.
