Three stories circulate at this school in Waterloo, Nebraska, and the first was written down by one of the pupils involved.

He and his friends were in the band room when they saw a small girl running into the shed where the instruments are kept. What convinced them they had seen something was not the figure but what followed: a hall pass came down out of the air from exactly where she had been.

The second story concerns locker 61, which has its own reputation and which every pupil in the school can point to.

A numbered locker is a good example of how school folklore fixes itself to a physical object. The story needs somewhere to live, and a locker with a number on it will still be there when the pupils who started it have left.
