The Thomaston Opera House

A fire damaged the entire theatre at Thomaston, Connecticut many years ago, and it has since been restored.

Those said to have died in it are who people report, and anybody alone in the theatre describes the sense of being watched.

The old firehouse next door produces its own accounts, which is a coincidence worth noticing: the building that burned and the building that would have answered the call are side by side, and both are reported.

Thomaston is named for Seth Thomas, who built clocks here, and the town was one of the great American clockmaking centres. The opera house is in the town hall building, which is how small New England towns did it.

The theatre is restored and in use.
