The Strand at Kendallville, Indiana is said to be haunted by one of its former owners, and the account that established it is one of the better ones on this map because of who the witnesses were.

A woman was cleaning the theatre with her children, aged three and five, running about while she worked. From inside one of the auditoriums she heard them screaming. She came out and both children told her the same thing: there was a man standing at the top of the stairs, the ones leading up to the balcony.

One of the theatre staff came in and asked the children to describe him. They gave a detailed description, more detailed than children of that age would ordinarily volunteer about a stranger.

A few days later the same member of staff had an experience of his own in the building. Multiple sightings of the man have followed since. What holds the account together is the description given by two small children who had no idea whose theatre they were standing in.
