This is the same house listed elsewhere as the Stickney Mansion, and it is included again because of what it became.

It was built in the mid 1800s by a couple deeply involved in spiritualism, who held séances in it and who had it constructed with no ninety degree corners, on the belief that a spirit needs a corner and gets stuck in one.

Bull Valley itself has a reputation locally that the residents did not choose.

For years the building served as the Bull Valley police station. That is the detail worth recording: officers went on shift, filed paperwork and answered calls inside a house that had been designed around a theory of the afterlife, in rooms deliberately built with rounded walls.

The upstairs, where the corners are, is where everything has always been reported.

The building has since been restored and is private.
