The old high school in Tulsa, Oklahoma was converted into offices for the local utility company, and the reports began after the conversion.

Staff describe lights flickering on and off, files moved, and taps in the lavatories turning themselves on.

Late at night, workers hear footsteps, and find bins moved out into the corridor.

That last detail is worth noting because it is the sort of thing a cleaner does. Somebody in the building is carrying on with a job.

Schools converted to offices are an interesting category. The rooms keep their proportions, the corridors keep their length, and the people now working in them are doing something entirely unlike what the building was built for, in a space that thousands of teenagers passed through.

Tulsa's own history includes the destruction of the Greenwood district in 1921, within the lifetime of this building.
