These halls of residence in Milwaukee were built for the nuns who ran the college, and the basement was where the sick sisters were kept until they died.

After dark, one of them is heard walking the corridors.

In some of the rooms on the third floor centre, posters are torn off the walls and other things happen that students report.

A religious community caring for its own dying members in the basement of its own house is a particular arrangement, and it was normal. Sisters entered young, worked their whole lives in the order, and were nursed at the end by the women they had lived alongside for fifty years. There was nowhere else for them to go.

The building is student housing and is not open to visitors.
