Beechfork Elementary School at Helton, Kentucky was closed after the building fell into serious disrepair. The equipment was removed and the students moved to a new school some fifteen miles away.

It seemed unremarkable at first. Then lights began to be seen late at night, although there is no power at all in the old school. People who stop on the highway running past it say they can still hear the voices of students and teachers.

Sometimes, late at night and especially in rain, a lone figure of a man is seen walking the school grounds. He is said to be the ghost of the man who donated the land for the school, unhappy that it has been closed and the children are gone. Those who linger report that he starts walking towards their car.
