Bobolice is one of the best-known castles on the Trail of the Eagles' Nests in the Polish Jura, built by Casimir the Great in the 14th century and rebuilt in modern times. A countess is said to haunt it: forced into a loveless marriage, she lost her sons and died of grief, and now she wanders the castle in black robes, weeping for the life taken from her. The castle also shares a legend of treasure hidden in caves stretching toward neighbouring Mirów Castle, guarded by a witch. The white limestone stronghold on its crag is today a popular destination.
