People spoke of mysterious knocking, voices and figures moving through the house. These stories fed the farm's reputation and drew steadily more adventurers.

Since the 1960s Frammegården has been owned by the Skillingmark local heritage association, which preserved the house and opened it to the public. The association has also been able to draw on the growing interest in the paranormal, and income from visitors has helped restore and maintain the farm.

History meets the present

What made Frammegården internationally known in recent years is the rise of ghost tourism. When the Swedish YouTube couple Jocke and Jonna spent a night there in 2017, interest in the place exploded. Their documentation of strange phenomena reached hundreds of thousands of viewers and put Frammegården on the map as one of Sweden's foremost destinations for anyone seeking the supernatural.
