Chillingham Castle in Northumberland is often called Britain’s most haunted castle. Its best-known ghost is the radiant Blue Boy, whose mournful cries were heard at midnight in the Pink Room, followed by a blue glow. During a 20th-century renovation, workers found a child’s bones walled up and wrapped in blue cloth. Lady Mary Berkeley is also said to walk here, and the castle’s dungeons carry a dark history.
